This one-day workshop is centered on hand building with coil, slab, or other methods of building up sides, walls and structures to create one pot or vessel. Utilizing sculptural manipulations and texture to create a surface of language and story, with mark making, adornment and glaze painted design you will essentially be writing into the clay piece. You will finish by applying color with underglaze on the soft leather hard pieces. This workshop hopes to express a maneuvering through the patterns of life into the clay vessel to create a healing narrative through one of the most healing materials of the earth. A $15 supply fee is due to the instructor to cover the cost of clay and firing.
