In this one-day hand building pottery class you will have the chance to create in a slow meditative process. Working by hand in clay lends itself easily to a mindfulness allowing one’s imagination to flourish. Exploring methods of pinch, coil, slab, modeling and carving techniques will be utilized. You will create a pot, vessel or sculptural container that may encompass designs, texture, or ornamentation. In addition, you will make small, odd, interesting objects to go inside your pot, a place for holding dreams, wishes and inspirations. A white underglaze can be painted on the red terra cotta clay as decoration. All clay will be provided. Come release the stress! Please bring a snack. Pottery will be picked up at a later date.
